Youth Services

Our Youth Liaison Officer primarily focuses on Moody Middle School, Port Moody Secondary, Heritage Woods Secondary, and offers supports to other schools in SD43. You may also see us at CABE Secondary, Gleneagle Secondary, and Suwa’lkh!

If you have any questions about our Youth Liaison Officer and the services provided, please do not hesitate in calling:  604-461-3456.

The goals of the Youth Liaison Officer (YLO) are to:

  • Foster a safe and supportive school environment for students and staff;

  • Prevent crime and promote community safety through education and outreach;

  • Strengthen relationships and communication between youth, school staff, and police;

  • Serve as a liaison between schools and the criminal justice system;

  • Investigate school-related offences and provide support when needed;

  • Promote policing as an accessible service and potential career path.

Our YLO is also involved in a number of initiatives which are not enforcement-related such as: Cops for Cancer, grade 12 legal class discussions, school dances, graduation events, etc.
