Personal Safety

Personal safety is about being aware of your surroundings and taking steps to reduce risk in everyday situations. Whether you're at home, walking alone, or in a public space, staying alert and trusting your instincts can help you avoid potential danger. Simple actions like locking doors, keeping valuables out of sight, and letting someone know your whereabouts can make a significant difference. The police are committed to community safety and encourage everyone to stay informed, take precautions, and report suspicious activity. Your safety starts with awareness and proactive choices.

Intimate Partner Violence

Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a serious and often hidden form of abuse that can include physical, emotional, sexual, or financial harm by a current or former partner. It affects people of all genders, ages, and backgrounds. Recognizing the signs—such as controlling behavior, threats, isolation, or physical harm—is an important step toward safety. If you or someone you know is experiencing IPV, know that help is available. The police work closely with community partners to support survivors, provide emergency assistance, and connect individuals to resources. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their relationships.
